ABSTRACT 

The study we conducted in Co Do district, Can Tho city. A district of the city center area Mekong Delta, an area with great potential for economic, a granary of the country. In 2014, Vietnam exported 6.5 million tonnes of rice, Mekong Delta which accounts for 90%. However the proportion of malnourished children here to occupy high. The percentage of malnourished children in Can Tho in 2013 was 11.7%, compared with 15.3% nationwide. But this ratio in Co Do district in 2014 was 15.5%. In the poor and near poor rate of child malnutrition are 19% and 23.1%. Particularly quite wealthy households rate of malnourished children are still considerable 14.3%. This suggests that in addition malnutrition caused by poverty are caused by lack of knowledge of parenting. So the authorities should have the attention of investment to economic and social development in the Mekong Delta, in order to improve the lives of people here. Besides, the Can Tho health healthy department should have plans to spread to people, especially mothers with children under 5 years of knowledge and practice of true to nurture and care for their children.
